Why California’s a Major Starting Point for Hydrogen Refueling Stations

Aside from EV making a killing in the market very soon as shown here, the fact is hydrogen fuel cells are representing a decent portion of the innovative industry to reach the goal of emissions-free driving. The question remains, though — why California? Here’s the scoop you need to know just in case you’re ever in the market for a hydrogen-fuel car:

California Currently Boasts a Large Majority of Functioning Hydrogen Stations

The current count is 28 right now. The entire country at the moment sits at 31. Do you have any idea hydrogen-1how many petrol gas stations there are in the nation? Thousands. California’s the hub. Simply put. The other states boasting hydrogen refueling stations are as follows:

  • Connecticut
  • Massachusetts
  • South Carolina

You won’t currently find any other stations anywhere else, but it turns out the West Coast, particularly California, blows all of those East Coast states out of the water. And it’s only going to get bigger with First Element, a company building True Zero-branded hydrogen-refilling stations, binging heavily and opening 15 of those stations at around late 2015, mid 2016. Since August, their stations pumped out 16K kilograms worth of hydrogen, powering somewhere around 1MM miles of emissions-free driving.

You Better Believe That the Earth’s Quite Happy About That

Auto technology’s propelling the wave of the future that is this automotive industry. Clearly. You can see where it’s all starting. Right in California, and there’s no doubt the other states all over the country will be picking up on the standard. Petrol will be a thing of the past. Financing will surge. More and more people will be driving the state-of-the-art cars of the future.

And it most likely will not end very soon. Now’s the time to pick up that car loan and see what kind of benefits and features you get out of your next ride. SIGN UP FOR FREE RIGHT HERE!

The Effect the Strong Economy Has on Holiday Driving

Did we mention that the auto industry’s making a dent these days? We did. And as for Thanksgiving, we’re about to see a whirlwind record of drivers with cars — either old or new — doing what most Americans love to do: travel. And for good reason. The economy’s strong, for sure, but what does this have to do with holiday driving? It costs a lot to maintain a car, and then you have to think about gas prices, but when you think about it — isn’t it worth it to be around family?

AAA Has Forecasted That This Will Be the Biggest Thanksgiving for Holidayholiday driving strong economy Driving Since 2007

And one of the reasons happens to be the economy. It’s been growing, and not just in auto. The prediction is that 1MM more Americans than in 2015 will definitely make sure to get behind the wheel and drive to family and friends for Thanksgiving turkey, and the reasons why are steady wages and decreasing unemployment rates.

More and more people are succeeding at their jobs. More and more people are getting new jobs. More and more people are seeing their wages increase. This accounts for more possibilities for obtaining new car loans, paying more on gas prices (even though gas prices are actually leveling out and in some areas going down). Believe it or not…. But the economy’s looking pretty good!

Now’s the Time to See About That Car Loan Before Getting the Turkey Fix-Ins

Because nothing beats driving into your parents’ driveway for that dinner in a brand-new car to show off. You can see that AAA has brought in the numbers: this will be the biggest holiday driving day since 2007. Why? Because people want to be with family and friends this holiday season. And nothing beats being with family and friends than getting into that car you just purchased. FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT CAR LOANS, CLICK HERE.

Swim With Cars: Amphicar’s Brief But Awesome Heyday

A car that can drive on land and swim in water is such an amazing idea for many people that dare to dream. And for a short period that dream was a reality.

The AmphicarAmphicar-stuttgart-2005 amphicars

Amphicar was the brainchild of Hans Trippel, a German auto designer who is better known for the gullwing doors of Mercedes-Benz sports cars. Trippel experimented with amphibious cars in the 1930s and later built several hundred heavy duty military ones during World War II. A competing military design from Volkswagen called the Schwimmwagen was a little more successful than his.

After the war, Mr. Trippel returned to his dream of building a commercially viable amphibious car. But after designing a prototype of the Amphicar, he had no more involvement with its Berlin manufacturer.

It was all for the best. After making a splash (pun intended) at the 1961 New York Auto Show, the company thought it could sell tens of thousands a year to Americans. Those estimates turned out to be way too optimistic. Between 1962 and 1967 fewer than 3,800 were sold in North America plus only a few hundred more in Europe. Many were simply given away to employees.

A publicity stunt that involved a successful crossing of the English Channel got headlines. Another in the Strait of Gibraltar was less successful, since it involved the first-ever collision of a ship and an automobile. More strict U.S. safety requirements in 1968 finally sank (again, pun intended) Amphicar Corp. itself.

There have been other attempts at passenger cars that float, fly or even can submerge, but none approaching Amphicar’s brief heyday.

While people tend to be terribly fascinated with them, they tend not to buy them.

Why Your Old Car Just Isn’t Cutting It

How many more miles are you willing to waste your money on driving that unsafe hunk of junk you call a car?

Just bare with me for some more reasons why you need a new car.

  1. Good gravy that thing is a death trap. Anything above 65 mph make it start shaking like a leaf. There is a mysterious thud that is calling to impending doom. Generally, nothing about your decision to keep this car for this long is a safe idea.
  2. A fresh start isn’t a bad thing. I’m sure you have tons of good memories in that car. But what about the bad ones? All of the times it left you stranded in the middle of nowhere. All of the sweaty drives that you had to endure in the dead heat of summer without air conditioning. Isn’t it time for some new and better memories?
  3. Do you honestly think that keeping that thing for this long as saved you money? After all of the hours and days in the shop, and all of the wasted gas money (because you know it only gets 16 miles per gallon), and the dates lost after they saw your horrid mess of a car, you have not saved a penny. You may as well have set your wallet on fire.
  4. How much more are you willing to get made fun of by your friends for all of your silly fixes? Is your bumper held on by duct tape… or not on at all? Is your shifter not a shifter at all, but something else that is definitely not being used for it’s intended purpose? I think it’s time for a change.junk-1 car

But worry not! There are options for you. That new car isn’t as unattainable as you think. Apply for a auto loan today and start saving money and start making those new memories.

The “Great” American Road Trip

Let’s set the stage for quite an adventure:

Pierce_Stocking_Scenic_Drive_Woods roadSitting in middle of the back seat, uncomfortably wedged between two much older (and much sweatier brothers). Sweat making the hair stick to my forehead because the tiny car from the mid 1980’s had no air conditioning. This car has been selflessly serving our family through many different road trips to football games and drives to Grandma’s house, but this drive from Michigan to South Dakota was no small task for such a worn down car.

I remember it like it was yesterday. The sweat of my brothers still making me incredibly grossed out the only thing to break the silence of our broken am radio was the occasional yell from one of my brothers, “Slug bug!” And they would proceed to shove me either direction trying to get a good punch into the other’s shoulder.

Now, this story may sound like a wholesome tale of the average American road trip. No. This is a cautionary tale to every parent to never make your child go through that mess of a road trip in a car that should have never left the county.

Words Of Wisdom

One that you can rely on to not break down in the middle of nowhere, when you have no service and the nearest exit is 30 miles south. Have a vehicle that you can count on to be the perfect place for laughs, inside jokes, loud singing, and plenty of driving games.

5 Features That You Didn’t Know You Needed In Your Car

The automotive world is on its way to the next level. Every year new car models are being released for years that aren’t even here yet. The current year is 2016 and all of the cars being advertised are 2017 models. It seems as though the auto industry is always one step ahead, and coming up with designs, features, and models that we need in the future, for the present. Why shouldn’t we be the same way?

Some Features Can Be A Hassle, But These 5 Features Are Game Changers

We all have ideas of gadgets and gizmos to help make our lives a whole lot easier, but do you ever consider the accessories and features in your very own vehicle, that enhance your driving experience? Here are just a few:features

  • Push to Start Wireless Key Fob – The simplicity of not having to actually put a key in the ignition makes you feel like you’re flashing into the future 10 years.
  • Heated Steering Wheel – An amazing feature to have in the middle of winter. There’s nothing worse than trying to hold on to the steering wheel when it’s almost frozen solid.
  • Bluetooth Radio and Sound System – No more need for a wired AUX cord. They get in the way, and some how you always lose them. Bluetooth is the way to go.
  • Sunroof – You can never go wrong with a classic sunroof. Perfect for stargazing on a date late at night, or during the hot summer days when you want some cool air.
  • Digital Speedometer – Everything seems better when it’s digital. In this day and age, it’s almost a regular thing to not even use a normal speedometer, but just to read digital speeds, so you know just how fast you’re driving.

These are just a few of some incredible features you can get in a vehicle if you don’t have one. Looking for a car just like this? Need a loan? Look no further.

To Lease A Car Or To Buy A Car, That Is The Question

When you got your first car, it’s definitely possible that it was a hand-me-down car, or that it was a used vehicle, and not a brand new, hot off the line car, never been used before. On the other hand, it could very well have been a brand new car. Who knows? First cars are different for everyone. But whether or not it’s your first car, third car, or 10th car, there is always that age-old question. Should I buy a car, or lease a car?

And what a good question indeed. Obviously there are many pros and cons to either leasing a car or buying a car. We can get into that right now.

Lease or Buy: Help Me Choose

It’s tough to say which one is the better option, or even the more cost efficient option, because both have pros and cons.

Leasing allows you to have a car for a certain period of time, and once the lease is up, get a new car that you maybe want to try out.

You are not set in stone with one specific vehicle.

Buying a car gives you full rights and legal authority with your vehicle.

Customization and accessibility increases when buying a car.

Depending on how you like to view money, you either need to make monthly payments on a lease, or pay up front to purchase a vehicle. This could really be seen as a positive or negative depending on your stance.

Leasing means you are restricted on the number of miles you can travel.

Buying a car requires maintenance, typically more often than leasing.

So no matter what way you look at it, both have good sides and bad sides, it all just depends on how you like to look at the situation. But none of this really matters if you cant afford getting a car. Luckily there’s an easy way to do that.

3 Easy Ways to Keep Your Car Healthy And Running Great

Your car should be one of the most important things in your life. Considering its one of the only things that you can rely on for transportation. Let’s be honest here, your car will do you no good if it is not kept in great condition. Sure it can still work, but the chances of it failing on you, or something bad happening is far greater if you don’t make sure that it stays healthy and running smoothly.

Healthy, Happy, and Running Like It’s the Very First Timehealthy

Now there are people who regularly do maintenance on their vehicle and make sure everything is up to date. Then there are people who do not do that. Don’t be that person. It doesn’t take much to check a gauge or go into a shop every once in a while, and the benefits far outweigh the “pain in the butt” 10 minutes or less it would take to actually check all of the things in your car. Here are 3 extremely easy ways to keep your car running and healthy:

  • Check your oil – A common misconception about your oil is that you can check it whenever you want. In reality you should drive around for a while before checking your oil. Make sure it’s running properly.
  • Get your tires filled regularly – This one isn’t all that tough. Some places offer free air to fill up your tires. If they don’t, most places offer to do it free of charge with an oil change. Kill two birds with one stone.
  • Regularly wash your car – Although this one doesn’t necessarily help the health and longevity of your vehicle, it’s always nice to see a car clean and appealing to the eye.

It’s a pretty easy job keeping your car up and running, and if you don’t, you may need to look into getting a new car, which is really easy to do when you apply for an auto loan.

Safest Driving Cities And Why It’s Important For You

Unless you have access to public transportation or live within walking distance to all the places you need to go, commuting by car is both necessary and expensive. Each year, those who drive spend an average of about 200 hours on the road. Plus another 41 hours in gridlock. For a full-time worker, 241 hours is the equivalent of a six-week vacation. This is all especially truthful if you live in a busy city that you often blame for you lateness and general road rage.

Every year the ranking of the cities with the best drivers comes out and you are left wondering why you should even care. But I am here to tell you why you should care and how it affects your life and certainly the life you your car.

mobile-logo“The Allstate America’s Best Drivers Report® is an annual ranking that identifies which of the 200 largest U.S. cities and the surrounding suburban metropolitan areas have the safest drivers.”

This data isn’t just something that gives cities bragging rights. It is something that can really matter to you personally. The hazards of driving in a larger city can be anything from mindless people crossing the street to someone not paying attention at a four way stop. Knowing what kind of safety that your city has to offer you (or not offer you) can change the way that you drive and the way that you protect yourself.

What Does This Have To Do With Me?

driver-shutterstock223583776-crop-600x338Driving a car that is safe is a large part of that protection. If you are like me, you spent far too many years driving a car that is either as old as or older than you. And has a very loose translation of safety precautions.

So don’t run that risk any longer. There are options for you to get into the right car for you to feel and be safe in; regardless of the city.

5 Benefits Of Having A Car In College

There are a lot of benefits of having a car in college. After all, who wouldn’t want to have access to wheels whenever they choose? Here are all of the pros that far outweigh the cons.

  1. You can leave campus if and when you need a break. images (1) collegeWhether it’s heading to a concert somewhere in town, going out to dinner with some friends, or even on a date, having the ability to get away from campus whenever you wish is an attainable luxury.
  2. You can help friends out when they need it. If your friends are moving or need a ride to the airport, you will be there to save the day and collect your gas money.
  3. You don’t have to worry about transportation around the holidays. Getting home – even if it’s a day or two drive – can be done on your own terms. You won’t have to worry about expensive flights, delayed trains, long bus rides, or other tedious transport.
  4. imagesYou can plan road trips and other fun events for long weekends and breaks. Speaking of road trips … you can provide transportation for some seriously memorable road trips.
  5. You can get an internship or job off campus. Without a car, of course, you can also work or have an internship off campus, but having your own transportation definitely makes your life much easier.
